Lori Walsh is a complementary health practitioner in Victoria BC.

Born on the east coast of Canada, Lori made her way to Victoria in 1995 and began to explore a deep interest in herbs and health in 1997 with herbalsit Carol McGrath. In 1998, Lori began a three year apprenticeship with Carol, learning about herbs and their properties, and how to use them in the traditional way, from elder to apprentice.

In 2001, Lori began practicing as a herbalist. In her early exploration, she encountered many women who were seeking information about reproductive health concerns. This brought Lori to conduct in depth research of the reproductive system and led to a discovery of fertility awareness. The results led her to teach classes in fertility awareness and to speak at the Global Birth Institute and the University of Victoria on the topic.

A grandmother at 35, Lori has a natural interest in helping women to have empowered experiences during pregnancy, childbirth and beyond. This has led her to participate in several birthing experiences and to further her own knowledge through training in doula services, including a ten month diploma program in perinatal services through the Global Birth Institute.

Lori’s diverse interests have come together to allow her to engage in a unique form of body work that includes reiki, reflexology, sound healing and intuitive bodywork. She became certified as a reflexologist through the reflexology association of Canada in 1998. Lori is also certified as second degree reiki practitioner through Taiya Curle.

Her other interests include music and sound and she has attended three series of workshops in sound healing with Simon Heather, achieving a certificate in sound healing through the UK sound healers association.

Most recently, Lori has been exploring a traditional form of plant medicine from the Peruvian Amazon. This work has allowed her to find a deeper connection with the local plants.
